What will you invite into your life this year?

For the past 18 months, I’ve been busy as a proverbial bee creating content for a big yearlong program I planned to launch on January first. Then this thing called life had other plans. My 14- year old Yorkie-Poo had an X-ray and MRI and was diagnosis with terminal liver cancer. It hurt like hell to lose my beloved dog. Then I packed up my whole entire house and moved in with this amazing guy I’ve been dating for a few years. This sucked a whole lot less than losing my dog and was yet another adjustment. But that’s real life and I’m all good except for intermittent moments of crying and missing my dog. On a lighter note, I hope your holidays were a lot brighter than mine.

Dealing with all these things kept me from launching my big year-long program. It was difficult but not the end of the world. It was kinda like returning to work after your break. You’re all rested and relaxed but quite annoyed at the reality of leaving your comfy bed and putting on real clothes and dealing with tiny or not so tiny humans all day long. But you did it and so will I.

Just do the Damn Thing!

I decided to change my launch date to February first until I realized my birthday was just four days later. The thought of giving birth to my big new program on my birthday made me giddy with joy. And so it is.

My main intention since I escaped the classroom was to build a coaching business that helped teachers live healthier and happier lives. Most of the work I’ve done in creating the framework around the Happe Teachers Club (HTC) is specifically designed to help you deal with all the stuff that comes with working in a pressure cooker every single day. We’ll have a different theme every month geared to help ease the stress and help and love what you do and how you live your life a whole lot more.  You can get all the details on how to join the HTC here.

What will you invite into your life this year?

I normally don’t create resolutions because they only last a couple of weeks. Every single day you invite things and people and emotions into your life. Most times you’re not aware of how or why you invited them but on a subconscious level, you may have. This year I’m being very intentional on what I invite and examine what happens when things I didn’t consciously invite pop up. This year I’m inviting Love, Joy, Patience, Abundance, Play, Rest, Clarity and Courage because they’re all feelings and activities I want more of. I realized I don’t play enough and if you’re anything like me you may be a bit play deficient as well.

If you have little kids you may play with them but it’s not the same as doing something that brings you great joy.  Play can be walking around your favorite store or several stores in the mall. It doesn’t have to involve money but it can. Play for me is being creative. I love to crochet and quilt but haven’t done it regularly in a long time. Moving all of my quilting supplies and yarn helped reignite the need to do these kinds of things because being creative spills over into other areas of my life as well.

You can do it too!

It’s super simple. All you need is a few minutes of uninterrupted silence to invite what you really want more of this year.  Once you have your list write it down so you don’t forget it. You can type a note in your phone or write it on a piece of paper that you stick on the fridge. It’s important that you revisit your list once or twice a week so that you set an intention to do one or more of those things on your list regularly. Otherwise, it’s just like a resolution that never gets done. After you’re done with your list I’d love for you to share it, if you feel led to do so. You can share it with me on Facebook or on Instagram. It’s just another way of making sure you’re getting what you want out of life instead of succumbing to all the things you have on your to-do list at work and at home. Remember you get to live a happy life and do things that make you happy.

Hope you enjoy your long holiday weekend.
